SPIN is an action for professionals and patients initiated by the FRT – Fondation René Touraine, an international non-profit and non-governmental charity dedicated to support therapeutic progress in dermatology.

SPIN brings together:

• A scientific committee of 56 members,
• 105 national representatives,
• 70 patients associations, and
• 4,000 dermatologists from 100 countries.

This network was initiated by a group of European experts in psoriasis. It has grown throughout the years by welcoming more experts in this area but also new ones in atopic dermatitis (since 2017), in vitiligo (since 2020) , in alopecia and hidradenitis suppurativa (since 2022). For the coming years, SPIN will pursue its growth by including new experts in alopecia and in hidradenitis suppurativa. SPIN’s mission is to improve the quality of healthcare for patients suffering from chronic inflammatory skin diseases, while developing national and international collaborations in the field of skin inflammation. Its goal is to raise awareness for the immunemediated inflammation diseases it covers but also to build bridges between them. Its actions are developped according to 3 axes as displayed in the strategic framework below.
