Louise Gerbens obtained her medical degree at the University of Amsterdam and via the U.S. Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification. She is a dermatologist based in Amsterdam (Amsterdam University Medical Centers and Huid Medisch Centrum). She holds a PhD in Dermatology from the University of Amsterdam (2018), for which she investigated measurement instruments, datasets and systemic therapies for atopic eczema. She is involved in i.a. the Harmonising Outcome Measures for Eczema (HOME) initiative, the international (and Dutch) TREatment of ATopic eczema (TREAT) Registry Taskforce (treat-registry-taskforce.org, treatregister.nl), EDF guideline, UPDATE trial and Dutch Dermatology association (NVDV).
